April 21 | Santa Monica Architectural Review Board

  • 3102 3rd St, 25ARB-0071: Review a sign adjustment to allow two new monument signs for St. Clement Catholic Church exceeding the total permitted sign area of 25 sf located in the OP2 Ocean Park Low Density Residential District where monument signs are typically prohibited. Staff Report.

  • 1437 6th St, 25ARB-0009: Review the design, colors materials and landscape plans for the construction of an 18-story multi-family residential building with 172 units and 2 levels of subterranean parking at 1437 6th Street in the Neighborhood Village (NV) Zoning District. Staff Report.

April 22 | LA City Council

  • 275 West 1st St, CPC-2023-372-GPAJ-VZCJ-HD-SP-CPIOA-HCA: Approve the One San Pedro Project that would establish the One San Pedro Specific Plan to allow for the phased redevelopment of the existing Rancho San Pedro public housing development, which occupies nine city blocks encompassing approximately 19.5 acres. The Specific Plan would establish standards to regulate land use, development, and design and would permit a maximum of 1,553 dwelling units, including restricted affordable units, and 130,000 sf of commercial space. The Project would also incorporate approximately 5.3 acres of publicly accessible open space and provide circulation and public right-of-way improvements.

    • Includes adoption of the EIR report findings and the General Plan Amendments to the San Pedro Community Plan to change the land use designation from Low Medium II Residential to Community Commercial for a portion of the Project Site.

  • Report from the Los Angeles City Planning Commission relative to the Warner Center 2035 Specific Plan Five-Year Status Report

  • 6290 W Sunset Blvd, CPC-2021-10588-DB-MCUP-SPR-VHCA-1A: Decision on Appeal filed by SAFER from the LACPC’s determination in 1) approving pursuant to LAMC Section 12.24 W.1, a Main CUP to allow the sale and dispensing of a full-line of alcoholic beverages for on-site consumption for restaurants and/or retail establishments totaling 16,680 sf of ground floor area; and, 2) approving a Site Plan Review, for a project that results in an increase of 50+ dwelling units and/or guest rooms; and 3) An On-Menu Incentive to permit averaging of FAR and density over two zones and to permit vehicular access from a less restrictive zone to a more restrictive zone; for the demolition of four commercial buildings and one vacant duplex and the construction of a new 201,134 sf, eight-story mixed-use building consisting of 170 new residential units (26 VLI and 8 LI) with 26 units set aside for Very Low Income Households. The project proposes to retain the existing 19-story tower located at the corner of Vine Street and Sunset Boulevard and a two-story commercial building (Morgan Camera Shop building).

  • 1459 South Hi Point St, DIR-2023-4996-TOC-HCA-1A: Decision on appeal filed by Elaine Johnson from the LACPC’s determination in approving a Categorical Exemption as the environmental clearance for a new five-story, 19-unit residential building (2 ELI units)

  • 504 West Avenue 44, ZA-2022-7295-ZAA-ZAD-SPP-HCA-1A: Decision on appeal filed by the Frontenac Avenue Safety Coalition in approving a CE as the environmental clearance for a new two-story single family-dwelling measuring approximately 3,731 sf with a 393 sf covered garage on an 8,696.8 sf vacant lot that is located within the Mount Washington-Glassell Park Specific Plan area

  • 5300 Oakdale Ave, VTT-83927-HCA-2A: Decision on appeal of demolition and removal of an existing citrus tree orchard, four street trees located on Oakdale, and the removal of existing structures (including an existing house, workshop/gallery, caretaker apartment, ranch office, two sheds, seven garage structures, and ramp structures) and the merger and re-subdivision of four parcels into 23 ground lots for the construction of 21, two-story single-family residences, and one caretaker's residence. Lot 22 and Lot 23 of the subdivision would consist of a 4.15-acre parcel that would be donated to a conservation organization.

    • LACPC and the Applicant failed to mutually agree on an extension of time for the first-level appellate body to act beyond the specified 45 days and as such, the appeal filed on January 6, 2025, to the LACPC was deemed denied and the determination of the Deputy Advisory Agency, dated December 20, 2024, stands.

April 22 | Pasadena Design Commission

  • 861 E. Walnut St, DHP2024-00349: Construction of a new, six-story 83,105 sf residential care facility with 50 assisted living units, 30 memory care units, and subterranean parking

April 24 | LA City Planning Commission

  • 1904 – 1906 South Preuss Rd, VTT-84089-SL-HCA-1A: Decision on appeal of demolition of two existing single-family houses and the construction of 12 small lot homes (1 VLI). Each small lot home will provide two automobile parking spaces located on the ground-floor level, for a total of 24 automobile parking spaces. Vehicular access to the Project will be located along a central driveway off of South Preuss Road and the eastern adjacent alley.

    • CPC originally heard this case on August 8, 2024. The Project was remanded back to the CPC for further consideration by the City Council on November 6, 2024. The CPC shall receive new evidence, re-hear, and re-decide this case.

  • 8620 West 3rd St, CPC-2024-4497-DB-VHCA: Demolition of the existing uses and the development of a 20,495 sf mixed-use building, pursuant to the City's Density Bonus program. The building would include 8,550 sf of medical office space and 18 dwelling units (3 VLI). The building would comprise five stories, with a maximum building height of 56 feet over one subterranean level of parking.

  • Citywide, CPC-2025-1648-CA: An ordinance amending Chapter 1 Sections 12.80 and 12.81, and Chapter 1A Sections 1.6.2 and 1.6.3, and other related sections, of the LAMC to make technical amendments to align with emergency shelter provisions in state law (Government Code Section 8698 et. seq).

  • 6100 North Woodley Ave, CPC-2024-2579-CU3: Construction of an Advanced Water Purification Facility (“AWPF”) in conjunction with the existing Donald C. Tillman Water Reclamation Plant (“DCTWRP” or “Tillman Water Reclamation Plant”). The Project will include a new two-story, 48 foot in height, approximately 58,743 sf building, outdoor storage area, pumping stations, and underground facilities. The new building will include building operations, treatment system, laboratory and additional support spaces on the first floor. The second floor of the building will house a visitor’s center.

  • 17829 Halsted St, CPC-2024-1532-DB-VHCA: Construction of a new five-story, 100 percent affordable housing project containing 232 apartment units, of which 47 units will be reserved for Moderate Income households, 184 units will be reserved for Low Income households, and one unit will be unrestricted as a manager's unit. The Project would provide 63 parking stalls within one subterranean level and rise to a maximum building height of 63 feet.
