This week, LA City Council considers the revised Responsible Hotel Ordinance which, if passed, would create a “more rigorous permitting regime” for hotel development applications and require the replacement of any housing on a one-for-one basis.
The Week Ahead
November 28 | City Council Meeting
Vote on proposed Responsible Hotel Ordinance establishing a uniform Conditional Use Permit requirement for Hotel Development Projects and Replacement Housing Requirements when there is resulting loss of dwelling units. The measure would also require hotel operators to report their vacancies to the City of Los Angeles and accept government-assisted vouchers to house individuals facing homelessness.
First consideration of draft ordinance to temporarily set automatic adjustments to the maximum adjusted rent of RSO units at 4%
Motion to extend deadlines to complete the Pre-Application Review process for commercial cannabis licenses, and for the issuance of new Temporary Approvals to Social Equity Individual Applicants for retail commercial cannabis licenses
Administrative approvals and Categorical Exemptions related to the Capital Improvement Plan projects for LAWA
Decisions to increase contract and extend terms to construction and engineering partners, including Jacobs Solutions Inc., Burns Engineering, Lea+Elliott, etc.

City Planning application. Zone change approved by City Planning Commission on May 25, 2023.
