Around the Corner

  • It's a busy week for planning commissions, so we've skipped the full month in review. Here’s a couple of things to note for Sept 2024:

  • 2915 East Colorado Blvd, DHP2024-00260: Demolition of existing commercial buildings and construction of a new 61,370 sf auto sales and service building, a new 4,864 sf automated carwash accessory building, and new paving for customer parking and inventory display

  • 1200 East California Blvd, DHP2024-00070: Construction of a new one-to-four-story 64,856 sf laboratory and office building

  • 4141 West Sea View Dr, ZA-2023-3517-ZAD-SPP-HCA-1A: Decision on appeal from Mt. Washington Homeowners Alliance of new 3,540 sf SFD with attached parking, located on a vacant lot in the Mt. Washington-Glassell Park SPA

Oct 9 | Santa Monica Planning Commission

  • Recommendation to the City Council that the City Council Adopt an Amended Safety Element of the City’s General Plan and Amendments to the Zoning Ordinance to Implement the updated Safety Element of the City’s General Plan. Staff Report.

Oct 10 | LA City Planning Commission

  • 4002-4006 North Verdugo Rd; 3067 North Delevan Dr, CPC-2023-7708-DB-CDO-HCA: New, three-story over one basement-story mixed-use building totaling 18,799 sf. Project site consists of three previously developed lots with a church, garage, and one dwelling unit, which have been demolished. The new building will include 14 dwelling units (2 VLI) and one ground-floor commercial space measuring 1,071 sf.

  • An ordinance amending sections 12.03, 12.22 A.26, 12.24 X.1, and 16.05 of the Los Angeles Municipal Code to update the existing Adaptive Reuse Ordinance to apply citywide

  • 5201. 5211 West Venice Blvd; 1537, 1541, 1543 South Cochran Ave, CPC-2022-5692-DB-WDI-VHCA: New five-story multi-family residential building containing 52 dwelling units (5 VLI) with 51,617 sf of FAR 4.27:1

Oct 10 | LA South Valley Planning Commission

  • 4427 North San Blas Ave, DIR-2023-1580-DRB-SPP-MSP-HCA-1A: Appeal of construction of a new two-story single-family home of 4,838 sf with a 2,138 sf basement, attached 360 sf two-car garage and four uncovered parking spaces, swimming pool under a separate permit, 363 sfof decks, and two retaining walls. The Project also proposes the construction of an attached ADU.

  • 15019 and 15021 Vose St, AA-2023-7259-PMLA-1A: Appeal of subdivision of one lot into four lots on a gross 33,574 sf t site in the R1-1 zone
